is an organisation which was founded in 2004 to chalenge racism in ireland in local communities and to make our communities one that promote the positive inclusion of people from minority ethnic groups including travellers.WHAT IS RACISM?
Racism is Specific form of Discrimination and exclution faced by Minotity Ethnic Groups in Ireland. It is based on the false bilief that some 'RACES' are inherently superior to others because of diferent skin colour, nationality, ethnic or cultural background. RACISM DEPRIVES PEOPLE OF THEIR BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS, DIGNITY AND RESPECT.
Racial
discrimination is defined in Article One of the UN International Convention
on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination(1969) as'Any distinction,
exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, colour, descent, national
or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing
the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights
and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any
other field of public life'
